This year's New Year's Reception of the P&D Network attracted over 70 participants, almost a doubling of last year's participants.

The reception was opened by Mr. Richard Weurding, director of the Dutch Association of Insurers, who held an inspiring speech on the changing role of insurance companies in the light of the international bank crisis. This speech was followed by presentations on the P&D Network's micro pension projects in Mongolia (by Mr. Joep Schouten) and the Philippines (by Mr. Leo den Hartog). Ms. Erna Wegman ended the afternoon program by presenting her case study on the sustainability level of the P&D Network's operations.
