On the 1st of July, the magazine Financial Investigator published an interview entitled: "Onder de loep: WorldGranny Pension & Development Network". In this interview, P&D Network programme managers Jansje van Middendorp and Boudewijn Sterk discuss the background of the P&D Network and the role that micro pensions play in poverty alleviation. On July 2nd, the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant published an article on the launch of the P&D Network's first micro pension pilot project in India in coordination with the DHAN Foundation, entitled: "Nu ook micro pensioen voor India". In this article, WorldGranny director Ms. Caroline van Dullemen explains the need for micro pensions amongst poor people living in developing countries around the world, while professor Robert Lensink of the University of Groningen explains that the idea that the poor cannot save is outdated.
The Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad published an article on the 3rd of July, entitled: "Met vier euro overleeft bejaarde Indiër". This article explains the demographic trend behind the growing number of older people within the world's population, and the challenge this number poses for poverty alleviation in developing countries, whilst WorldGranny director Ms. Caroline van Dullemen explains the background of the P&D Network and the set-up of the micro pension pilot project in India.
