India Pension Special IPA

25-Feb-2010    India is grappling with the complex issues surrounding the development of a pension strategy that can address the issues of the majority of the population, as well as the minority who are in formal employment in the public and private sectors.

In this special report of 'Investment&Pensions Asia' (IPA January - February 2010) the issues concerning India’s pension future, the reform process and setting up of the New Pension Scheme (NPS) and the 'Strategies and Incentives for Expanding Voluntary Pension Coverage' are explained. Especially the article about the IIMPS Micro Pension Model is interesting for the Pension & Development Network and persons intersted in micro pensions in India. How to cope with inflation and transmission costs are of concern for the existing micro pension scheme of IIMPS.
