Hans Alders (1952), an autodidact by nature and a passionate environmentalist, shaped his career by self-tuition. An influential and prominent politician, active for the Dutch labour party ('Partij van de Arbeid'), he held different positions as member of parliament, minister and statesman. As of 2007 Hans Alders is Chairman at EnergieNed, the Dutch association of energy producers and suppliers.
